Do you draw or paint and wish you had a better understanding of the perspectival structure of your subject matter? This course will cover the basic concepts and methods of linear perspective. Beginning with an introduction to the fundamentals of 1-point, 2-point and 3-point perspective, we will progress through interior spaces and further applications for still life and other observational rendering.
Week 1: Basic perspective concepts: Eye level and 1 point, 2 point and 3 point perspective.
Week 2: Cube from observation: locating vanishing points.
Week 3: Interior spaces: 1 point and 2 point construction.
Week 4: Ellipse and cylinder structure; a cylinder on its side.
Week 5: Auxiliary vanishing points; additional applications.
This class can be repeated.
