Pastel Painting (Fall 2)


Join us to learn the basics behind using soft pastels as a way to create pastel paintings with detail and depth. Using the medium of soft pastel to achieve an understanding of the philosophy of nature as a whole and integral entity of ourselves. Mike Barret Kolasinski is a visual activist for nature and will share his expertise with you. Required materials are listed at the bottom of this page.

This class is designed to be repeated.

Required Materials List:

  • Bring any soft pastels you have on hand. If you are purchasing pastels for the first time, look for a small set of 12 NuPastels and a larger set of pastels, such as Blick Pastels.

  • A few sheets of sanded pastel paper such as these and a variety pack of Canson pastel papers, in 9” x 12” size.

  • Bring photos or reference material from which you would like to work.

  • If you have other pastel materials, please bring them along.
