Mixed Media Botanica

  • Oak Park Art League 720 Chicago Avenue Oak Park, IL, 60302 United States (map)

THIS IS A TWO DAY WORKSHOP

What better way to celebrate the anticipation of spring than by learning several different ways to use mixed media to create beautiful, organic botanical pieces of art - from minimally structured to multi-layered approaches. Instruction will include contour drawing, sketching, rubbings, gel plate imprints and printing, collage, painting, and image transfer.

Saturday will be spent warming up with drawing, painting and creating collage papers, image transfers, and beginning two layered paintings. Sunday we will warm up again with drawing and loose painting, then finish the layered paintings and end with a critique.

You will leave with a beautiful selection of collage papers, drawings, mixed media pieces, and many ideas for future botanical pieces.

Intermediate to Advanced experience in mixed media recommended.
