  • OPAL - Gallery 720 Chicago Avenue Oak Park, IL, 60302 United States (map)

This class is designed to give students a general understanding of basic drawing concepts. Students will get an introduction to drawing materials and learning to see (basic observation) with fundamentals such as lines/edges, perspective, shading, measuring and proportion. The lessons are repeated in successive sessions. However, returning students will be encouraged to develop their skills further with each lesson. The level of instruction will be based on assessment of each student.

This class is designed to be repeated.

Week 2 : Proportions and Space: Measuring objects to each other with sight-size and comparative measuring.

Week 3 : Shading: Creating a value scale and how to use it on the four basic forms.
