In this class we will be learning the ins and outs of drawing on an iPad. We will be experimenting with different tools and techniques as we try out different apps. This class requires a 2018 iPad or an iPad pro, along with an iPencil.
Tuesdays, 7:00 PM- 9:00 PM
Instructor: Kathy Hirsh
Capacity: 10 students
I’ve been drawing and painting on the iPad Pro for over two years. I take it with me everywhere: traveling, listening to music in bars, on hikes, life drawing sessions. It’s responsive, small, unobtrusive, infinitely forgiving and really fun.
You’ll need an iPad Pro or the 2018 iPad and an iPencil to take this class. We will work primarily in Procreate, but I will introduce other interesting apps.
We will start the class with drawing still lives: which tools/brushes to choose, how to pick a size and color, how to decide how much paint is on your brush, how to use the eraser and the smudge tool.
Once we have a drawing we like, then we will learn: how to work with layers, shortcut gestures, transformations- size, shape, position (the infinitely forgiving part).
And once we have a painting we will learn how to save and print our work.
