Appropriate for all levels of students, learn various techniques using wet and dry pigments.

Tony will demonstrate and work with the students on the various techniques it takes to complete a portrait or figurative watercolor painting. Students will work from provided photos, learn to work in grey-scale & color, and will be instructed in how to best choose color based upon palette choices.

Required Materials
Paper
Arches 140 lb. watercolor block paper (cold press with the green cover) 10 x 14 min. size.
Optional: 22 x 30 full sheets (cold press) cut down to quarter sizes.
Brushes
Flat brushes – ½” and 1”
Round brushes – small (#6), medium (#10) and large (#14 or larger)
Paints
Primaries (warms and cools) plus some earth tones.
Blues: Ultramarine Blue, Cerulean Blue, Dioxazine Purple or any dark purple
Yellows: Lemon Yellow, Gamboge or Cadmium Yellow
Reds: Scarlet Lake or Windsor Red, Alizarin Crimson, Rose Madder
Earth tones:
Burnt Sienna, Yellow Ochre, Sepia, Payne’s Gray
Green: Viridian Green
