Art for ALL!
The Oak Park Art League has been reshaping its approach to youth art outreach since the Covid pandemic. We offer our ongoing Family stARTs program and have partnered with St. Angela School in the Austin neighborhood of Chicago.
With generous grant funding from the Mammel Family Foundation, OPAL is able to facilitate a visiting art instructor to provide art classes and activities to 190 underserved elementary and high school youth per week.
Take a moment to learn about this work we continue to do and if you are so compelled, you can help sponsor the 2025 implementation of this program.
The original plan with this program was to work with multiple schools in underserved communities outside Oak Park, likely one at a time as we have with St. Angela. Currently OPAL is seeking another partner organization/school, because another fortunate outcome of our partnership was that both students and their parents recognized the value of art programming in their school and St. Angela made connections to continue art programming independently.
