Watercolor Portraits: In Monochrome and Color

In this one day workshop, Tony will demonstrate layering colors for your portraits.

Students will start with a monochrome version to loosen up and then move into using color.Tony will give one on one instruction and then a final critique will be held.

Register early so Tony can email you the photos so you can draw them out in advance.

Instructions will be provided.


A half hour break will be taken for lunch, so please bring something to eat.

MATERIAL LIST

  • #10-14 round brush for most of the painting. Smaller or flat brushes are fine too.

  • Payne’s Grey, Yellow Ochre, Burnt Sienna, Scarlet/Winsor/Napthol/Cad Red Light, Cad Orange, Sepia, Ultra Blue, Phthalo Blue

  •  Cold Press watercolor paper, 140 or 300lb. 11 x 14 size is good.
