HOME: Art for Social Awareness

This Open Call is looking for artworks that reflect on what “HOME” means through the experiences and emotions that define our understanding of who we are, collectively and individually.

There are physical and emotional realities to where we stay, and where we stay may or may not be “HOME.”

Memories and real time realities drive our expression and perception of who we are in society. The concept of “HOME” is a fundamental element of existence. As is food, clothing, and healthcare, in all its forms.

The goal of this call is to bring attention to the fundamental importance of home and housing, while also celebrating and confronting where, how, and why we stay where we do. The hope is that submissions will challenge and provide for expression of individual realities through perceptions, documentation, emotional experience, observation, memory, and our individual biases toward those that do not or are not able to live as others do.

Social awareness needs us to be active to accomplish social justice.
The goal of this exhibition is to call more attention to the importance of recognizing and acting to address the vast inequities in housing that persist in the world today.
