These performances are intended for mature audiences.
Join us for a matinee performance by Momenta Dance Company dancers in OPAL’s Carriage House Gallery.
Each 20-minute matinee performance will consist of 3 short choreographed pieces inspired by the October exhibition theme, Art for Social Change: Made to Disrupt, and will include the following:
America Loves Its Guns - An insidious minority profits from gun policy in America in direct opposition to the will of the American people. Sadly, in America, guns are protected more than our citizens. Choreography & performance by Sandra Kaufmann - solo performance. This program includes triggering noises such as gun fire and explicit language.
Reconciliation - This dance is a representation of dealing with trauma. On one hand, it's the experience, the hurt of living through it, and the pain of processing. And on the other, it's the inner voice trying to understand the present, reconcile with what has happened, allowing us to find comfort and peace in this post-trauma life. Choreography & performance by Robby Williams
Just Politics - This dance addresses the personal experiences of women in response to the political climate which directly affects our lives. We will dive deep into the expectations that are placed on women and the dangers of talking about sexual assault lightly. Through this dance we will find what we stand for and how we build community through resistance. Dancers include, Ladonna Freidheim, Nikki Renfroe and Mei-Kuang Chen and Connor Cornelius. Choreography by Connor Cornelius. This program includes triggering noises such as gun fire and explicit language.
Seating is limited to 25 attendees, including wheelchair accessible seating.
Attendees are invited to view the exhibition following the performance.
