Workshop is open to adults and older teens aged 16+.
Have you been interested in making your own comics, but are unsure how to start? This is the workshop for you! In this 3-hour course, you will learn about the process of making comics from drafting your story to having a finished page. Time will also be dedicated to allow you to draw your own short comic, putting information from the workshop into practice!
About the Instructor
Fox Graham is a cartoonist, illustrator, and multidisciplinary artist based in Chicago, IL. The uniting feature of his work is its primarily narrative nature, exploring interpersonal relationships and belonging through a queer lense. He is passionate about sharing the broad possibilities the medium of comics allows for.
Fox holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Several of Fox's works have been displayed in art exhibitions for the LGBTQ+ Intergenerational Dialogue Project, which he has been a member of since 2020. He is also active in the indie comics and zine scene, and has self published multiple books.
Required Materials
Blank paper, pencils, erasers, pens, and a ruler are recommended materials to bring, but please feel free to bring any other drawing materials you would like to work with.
