Marion Sirefman
STATEMENT
Marion Sirefman has been creating art for decades, using many media. She lately has concentrated on acrylic abstracts, painting on canvas and outdoor murals. She is especially fascinated with creating vibrantly colored images the viewer can explore as a unique ‘place’ to inhabit --- but which also reference the real world --- on a microscopic, macroscopic and telescopic level.
BIO
HS of Music & Art, New York; then BFA, U of Chicago, 1968; then 5 years as artifact illustrator; followed by periodic but continual artistic endeavor in varied media: acrylic, watercolor, mosaic, stained glass and decorative paper collage. Honored to have been chosen by the Oak Park Area Arts Council to create SIX minimurals along South Blvd. for the Village of Oak Park. Always interested in exploring color, line, shapes, and composition - - and looking at the world from a micro to macro lens -- along with continued interest in landscapes and floral works. Member of OPAL since 1984.
