STATEMENT
Watercolor painting for me began in 1990 when I took a class in English watercolor techniques at the Art Institute. In 2006 I applied for and received a painting residency at the OxBow Summer school of Art when I spent the time doing more water medium painting. I am still exploring the possibilities. A large percent of my creative work over the years has been in photography. Kodak stopped making the paper and chemistry that I preferred in 2000. My education consists of an undergraduate degree in Mathematics from the University of Illinois (Urbana) and a Master’s degree in Photography from the Institute of Design at IIT, Chicago, IL. I taught photography and other art classes (watercolor, book binding and printmaking) at Elmhurst College and Dominican University for over 30 years. I have lived in Oak Park for my entire life and am a graduate of Oak Park River Forest High School as are my three children. I am also past president of the Oak Park Art League.
