Drawing: Material, Scale & Space - Fridays 1:00-3:00pm

Drawing: Investigation of Material, Scale & Space

Instructor: Ben Trissel

Material List - Coming Soon

In this drawing course, students will work on large-scale still lifes with black and white mixed media (pencil and acrylic paint), working out problems of material, scale and space. Students will be encouraged to explore mark-making - how material is applied to paper or canvas. We will work on one canvas the entire class, so we can see how time, frustration, discovery, and erasure can impact our work The goal is to move out of the comfort-zone of 'drawing' and into a space of investigation. Students will talk about their favorite artists, as well as speak in critique about both their frustration and their discovery. The class is open to anyone, regardless of experience.
